I visited Zetland Primary School last week as part of their “Careers Week” event where people from all different professions came along throughout the week to talk about their jobs and answer any questions the pupils had about their roles.
It was fantastic to meet all the children and answer their questions about Parliament and how I went from a local lad attending Macmillan Academy and being an apprentice in our chemical industry, to the MP for our area.
The children also asked me to pass on letters they have wrote to Redcar & Cleveland Council about the parking outside their school and ideas they had to improve the situation. I’ve passed these on and I hope they will write back to them with some solutions.
