At James Cook today to congratulate some of the teams there on their fantastic news, that they received a GOOD rating from the Hospital Watchdog, the CQC.
We are one of the first Hospital Trusts in the country to move from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’ following the disruption James Cook and others faced during the pandemic.
This is down to the fantastic teams working at the trust day in day out, to improve the lives of people in our area.
The CQC report says in it, that of every conversation they observed between colleague to colleague, or colleague to patient, there was kindness and care - which speaks to how lucky we are to have this fantastic hospital on Teesside.
While at James Cook I visited the brand new Discharge Suite, and had a tour from Nicola and Bev, to learn about how this new suite is helping clear ward beds, and give people a better experience as they wait for discharge.
It really is fantastic to see James Cook continue to go from strength to strength and I want to thank all of the people who there for their efforts.
