It was great to be at Redcar Hospital today where they’ve just opened a new Ultrasound Scanner, allowing them to scan over 100 extra patients every week.
The new scanner cost just over £90K and is part of our plan to improve community diagnostics and ensure patients get faster access to the care they need.
Redcar is aiming to be part of the community diagnostics centre program that the government has launched, and are planning a new MRI scanner as well as CT scans, meaning people can access these services closer to home.
Always enjoy visiting Redcar Hospital. The teams there are so lovely and friendly - and the atmosphere isn’t like any other hospital I’ve visited.
