Jacob has presented his support towards the transition to green energy, which is presented within the North Sea transition deal.
The North Sea transition deal is an extension upon the UKs global strength in offshore oil and gas production and seeks to increase the benefits for the UKs oil and gas subdivision from the global modification to clean growth. It allows the production of oil and gas to continue during the transition to green, but at much lower levels than the amount that is being produced today.
The consequences of ignoring this transition would include: the green investment drying up; an immense amount of jobs and skills will be lost; and there will be a rise on foreign imports.
Yet, by transitioning to clean energy, a Β£16bn investment will be provided in green technology, 40,000 jobs will become protected, and there will be vast energy security.
Supporting this transition will not only benefit the security of local jobs and income, but also allow the protection and improvement on local communities like our own.
Jacob presented on his social media that:
βOn North Sea gas, the choice is clear. Either we support domestic production as we π©π§ππ£π¨ππ©ππ€π£ to clean energy or turn off the taps.β
