This afternoon, Jacob Young MP attended a meeting with representatives from CF Fertilisers in Billingham and Huntsman based on Wilton. Both these companies are key components of Teesside's Chemical Industry.
The meeting was set to discuss the UK's transition to a greener economy and the steps these firms can take.
Jacob later stated: "Prior to coming into Parliament I worked in our industry for 9 years. I'm committed to not just stopping the decline of Teesside's Chemical Industry, but reversing it so that our industries, and the jobs they create, begin to grow again."
"Through green technology like Carbon Capture and Storage, we can reverse that decline - and not just preserve jobs but create many more in the future."
