Following on from his earlier petitions to secure increased support for the Eston area of his constituency, Redcar MP Jacob has today announced that himself and the council have signed off on a funding bid of £5 million - intended to be used for a new swimming pool at Eston Leisure Centre.
This bid was announced as bid one for the Government's Levelling Up Fund. The overall bids placed for the area amount to £19.95 million.
On Facebook, Jacob explained: "The money isn't confirmed, but the Council have put forward our bid, with my endorsement, and now we wait to see if we're successful."
"I've said from the start that I'm committed to a pool in TS6 for the people of TS6 - and I'm pleased to give my full backing to getting this funding from Government."
The local representative has promised more updates to come.
