Today, local MP Jacob Young announced that a huge £25 million worth of investment for Redcar Town Centre has been approved by government.
Jacob has been working alongside the council on these bids since January 2020.
He stated: "This is amazing news for our area and is going to help us do fantastic things in Redcar Town Centre, which will improve visitors across the area."
So far, the plans include: A new water sports facility at Coatham, a clean energy hub at the college, grants for new high street businesses and a new indoor activity centre on the seafront - amongst many more.
However, Jacob says, "we still have further to go."
"I'm working with the council on a bid to invest in other parts of the borough too, but this is an amazing first step and a vote of confidence in Teesside!"
