Redcar MP Jacob Young is glad to be playing his part in the campaign to level up Teesside as he joins the call to bring Treasury jobs to the local area.
The MP stated:
"I’ve spoken about bringing Treasury Jobs to Teesside a number of times in the House of Commons - now let’s make it a reality.
Our area is already getting so much more attention because of our team of Conservative MPs fighting for it and a Northern Chancellor who really understands the challenges our area faces.
A key part of levelling up has to be placing decision-makers into the communities that have felt left behind for so long - and part of the message from the EU referendum was people didn't feel they were being listened to in either Brussels or London.
So that’s why it is so important to bring these Treasury jobs to the North and of course - Teesside would be the perfect location."
Mr. Young's calls for Treasury jobs in Teesside have been shared by other representatives across Teesside, including Simon Clarke (MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland), Matt Vickers (MP for Stockton South) and Ben Houchen (Tees Valley Mayor).
