As I'm sure you're all aware, the Royal British Legions Poppy Appeal will continue to raise the vital funds needed for our veterans, as it does every year. Unfortunately the poppy appeal will also have to to adapt to the new COVID-19 restrictions, the way we have all had to.
The red poppy is such an importance symbol of remembrance and is cherished by people up and down the United Kingdom and it is important that we are still able to support the cause, despite the disruptions of the ongoing pandemic. If you are unable to leave your home to get a poppy as you usually would, the RBL have come up with a range of new ways for people to show their support remotely.
Poppies in the post:
The Royal British Legion’s website allows you to request 20 free poppies. Many of the volunteers who usually distribute poppies are unable to do so this year, so we are being asked to step in to support the Armed Forces community and ensure their contribution to our country is not forgotten. Please remember to make a donation to the Royal British Legion after requesting your poppies. For more information: https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/ways-to-give/poppies-in-the-post
Poppy Run:
The usual My Poppy Run events that take place all over the country throughout October and November, will now be taking place virtually. You are still able get involved and raise money online. Please visit: https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/things-to-do/events/my-po…;
Virtual poppies:
This is an augmented reality filter which places a digital poppy on the lapel of the user, so they can show their support online, even if they are unable to buy a physical poppy. This can be used on Facebook or Instagram (the links providing each are below) and a donation sticker will allow followers to make a contribution to this year's appeal.

This is an A4 poster which you can display anywhere (perhaps in your home window) to showcase your support for the cause.
