A LEVELs & GCSE RESULTS
A-level and GCSE students in England will be given grades estimated by their teachers, rather than by an algorithm, the Government has announced.
The situation we are operating within is unprecedented. Never before have we asked young people to forgo their exams and asked teachers to estimate their grades.
Rightly, the Government has listened to concerns raised by myself and other Members or Parliament and I’m pleased that the latest announcement will provide some comfort to those who were downgraded by Ofqual’s algorithm.
With this change - no student will receive a lower grade than that given to them either by their Teacher, or by the standardisation algorithm.
