Redcar's second bid for a share of the Government's Levelling Up Fund was announced by Jacob Young MP and is for £5.5 million to be invested in Redcar Train Station.
This announcement follows one made just a few days ago - a bid for Eston Baths funding.
The same principle applies as with the baths - money is not confirmed but the bid has been placed by the Council, with the MP's endorsement.
Posting on social media, Jacob stated: "Redcar station is a key gateway to the town for well over 300,000 passengers every year. I'm committed to getting it revamped into a great Station building once more."
