Today Jacob Young, local MP for Redcar and Cleveland, paid a visit to the temporary Community Testing Trial Hub in Grangetown. The scheme is based at the Grangetown United Community Hub and is open for free Covid-19 testing until 6pm today.
Mr. Young posted a video about the local testing trial to his Facebook later the same day, after he tested negative for the virus. As the second testing programme in the country, Jacob stated that the local community is "really privileged to have this on [their] doorstep." He went on to say that you do not need an appointment to get a test and can give your details on the day, even if you do not have Covid symptoms. Results are sent to participants within half an hour of their test.
The MP is urging locals to get tested at the Grangetown Hub today, wherever possible, believing it a great way to ensure protection of others as we approach the Christmas holidays.
