Today, in the House of Commons, Jacob Young MP for Redcar emphasised the impact that the new Borders Bill would have on preventing small boats from entering the UK illegally.
On Monday, 430 people arrived on UK shores illegally - a record high for a single day.
The Government's new Borders Bill intends to tackle boats like these, as well as break the chain of people smuggling and illegal immigration.
Jacob voted in favour of this Bill.
