Today it was announced that a major new wind farm port would be created on the former SSI site in Teesside, bringing with it over 2250 jobs.
Local Redcar MP, Jacob Young, was very pleased with the announcement, stating: "This is the first tangible investment because of our Freeport - A huge win for out area."
The news comes following the budget announcement that Teesside would host the UK's first Freeport, bringing 18,000 jobs to the area in the next 5 years.
