Today, Redcar MP Jacob was able to meet with the Trade Secretary, Liz Truss - to discuss Teesside's global opportunities, including in the new Australia Trade Deal.
A Trade Deal with Australia would be the first deal created from scratch since the UK left the EU. It will remove all tariffs on UK exports to Australia.
Jacob argues that this will be important for our manufacturing industries, including steel and chemicals, as well as our Car Industry - with companies like Nissan exporting 10,000 cars a year to Australia.
Posting on social media, Jacob posted: "Looking forward to hearing more in the coming weeks but this is a great step forward for us, as an outward looking Global Britain."
