Jacob Young MP for Redcar and Cleveland is spearheading a new campaign to assert new traffic calming measures along Bankfields Road in Eston.
Following numerous complaints and several accidents that have resulted in serious injuries or tragedy, Jacob conducted a survey amongst Bankfields residents about what they felt was needed to tackle the problem. With an overall demand for a 20mph speed limit and speed humps, Jacob is now calling on the local council to implement these measures.
He stated on social media: "There's already a speed hump in the road, but it isn't effective at slowing traffic and people travel over it doing well over the speed limit. The more support we get, the stronger our case is to council."
