This morning Jacob joined the Mayor and Normanby Councillors to lay a wreath at Smiths Dock Workers memorial in Smiths Dock Park.
Our industry has always been a huge employer here, and Jacob views this memorial as so important as it is to those from industry, who put down tools and took up arms.
We should also never forget the many women who took their place in work, and ensured the country carried on and the front line had the supplies they needed.
Jacob also laid a wreath at St Cuthberts Ormesby, on behalf of his constituents in Ormesby & Nunthorpe.
Their official wreath laying will be tomorrow, with a service at the Church.
