Great to bring Business Secretary, Grant Shapps, to Teesside today - and mark the launch of a new project producing Green Lithium at Teesport.
This Green Lithium plant will refine Lithium for use in batteries in phones, laptops and electric vehicles.
Beginning construction next year, the plant will create 1000 jobs during the construction phase and 250 permanent jobs when completed.
This is part of our plan to continue the transformation of Teessside, creating the jobs of the future on our doorstep.
Teesside is quickly becoming the centre of the Green Industrial Revolution, with Carbon Capture, Hydrogen, Offshore Wind and battery technology like this project.
