Great to meet up with Philip Meadows who’s painting the new mural in Eston Square, looking at Eston’s proud history and contribution to the world.
The mural, organised by the Eston Remembers Committee, is on the gable end of Gladstone Street - which is particularly fitting as William Gladstone called us the Infant Hercules.
“Iron from Eston ore, flowed across the globe”
We built the world
Well done Phil and all involved. This is being done FREE OF CHARGE, with Phil’s time, the scaffold and the paint etc all donated by local people. It’s absolutely brilliant.
P.S. Phil also painted the mural behind us in the remembrance garden. A really talented artist.
