INDUSTRY MINISTER VISITS BRITISH STEEL
Today I brought the Industry Minister to see the British Steel rolling mills at Lackenby, and to hear more about the plans for a new electric arc furnace here.
I’m proud to be working with Ben Houchen - Tees Valley Mayor, on his promise to bring steelmaking back to Teesside.
Last week planning approval was given to the new electric arc furnace, paving the way to see the return of steelmaking here and protecting the hundreds of jobs that still exist in the industry in Redcar & Cleveland.
Teesside is booming again, thanks to the leadership of Ben Houchen and our Conservative team here across the region. We cannot risk going back to square one with Labour, and seeing this progress stalled.
We need everyone to vote for Ben Houchen on May 2nd, and keeping Teesside moving forward.
